Some of the most important reasons for failiures in construction are: (1) A poorly detailed drawing. (2)Operatives being given incorrect instructions. (3) Technical information not being available (3) Other reasons related to the use of standards and regulations
One of the most important barriers to enter cross-border EU construction market are Building Regulations, which do have a crucial impact on the quality of the built environment.
The importance of building regulations is illustrated with well known facts about the construction business environment: it employs around 20% of EU workforce, it consists of 97% of SME companies and most of the activities are project-oriented. Although EU building regulations are being harmonized, provisions can be conflicting, hard to track, and are error prone. |
